DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING
IN COZUMEL
Never dived before? PADI Discover Scuba Diving is the way to try it without a course: a calm morning of skills in shallow water, then an instructor-guided dive with Aldora Divers, Cozumel's PADI 5 Star IDC Resort. No certification needed, and it starts right at the Villa Aldora pier.
WHAT THE DAY LOOKS LIKE
Shallow Water First, Then The Real Thing
You start with a short briefing: how the gear works, how to breathe and clear a mask, the hand signals you will use. Then into shallow, calm water off the villa to practice until it feels natural. Once you are comfortable, your PADI instructor leads you on a guided shore dive along the reef in front of the villa, to a maximum of 40 feet (12 m), or you can upgrade to a boat dive on a Cozumel reef. It is a one-day experience, and most people are back for lunch with a story.

WHO IT IS FOR
Curious Beginners, Ages 10 And Up
Discover Scuba is for anyone in reasonable health who can swim and is at least ten years old, the PADI minimum. Partners of divers who want to see what the fuss is about, families with teenagers, and people who always meant to try. You will fill in the PADI diver medical questionnaire before you go in: any yes answer needs a doctor's sign-off first, so tell us early if that might apply.
AFTER YOUR FIRST DIVE
Dive Again, Or Keep Going
Most first-timers want a second dive, and the experience can be repeated during your stay. If you are hooked, the skills you learn credit toward the PADI Open Water Diver course: start it here with Aldora's instructors, or do the theory at home with PADI eLearning and come back to finish in the water.
DIVE MORE, REST EASY.
